Woodfield's Annual Parade of Homes & Poker Run: A Day of Fun and Community Spirit

Woodfield's Parade of Homes

Every year, the residents of Woodfield eagerly anticipate one of the community’s most cherished traditions: Woodfield’s Parade of Homes. This Friday, August 23rd, this annual event came to life once again with the Poker Run built right in, which always transforms this day of neighborly home tours into a lively competition filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie.

For those unfamiliar with a Poker Run, it’s an exciting and social game that adds a layer of playful competition to any event. Participants visit a series of checkpoints—often by foot or vehicle—where they draw a playing card at each stop. The goal? To assemble the best poker hand by the time the run is over. At Woodfield, the checkpoints were the lovely homes of our neighbors, each one offering not only a card for the game but also a welcoming atmosphere and delicious snacks.

The day culminated in an awards ceremony, where the best poker hands were recognized with prizes, including gift cards to favorite local restaurants.

The fun rolled right into the evening with Pizza Palooza, as residents gathered for delicious slices, friendly banter, and plenty of laughs. It was a perfect way to cap off a day that truly embodied the spirit of Woodfield.

The Team at Woodfield takes pride in organizing engaging social events like this one. Also, the Woodfield Activities Committee—run by our incredible residents—really makes our community shine. Their dedication and creativity are evident in the numerous special events and weekly activities that keep our community vibrant and connected.

This energy and enthusiasm for making the most out of life are what make Woodfield such a special place. Whether it’s a big event like the Parade of Homes or the simple joy of Friday morning coffee and donuts at The Pavilion, there’s always a sense of community and shared joy here. That’s what makes Woodfield not just a place to live, but a place to thrive.
